TRANSCARGO VERSATILTY FISHING COMPETITION
2 Day Choice Open Competition
ABC Members free entrance
GUESTS to pay a nominal entry fee of N3,000
Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January 2011
Rules:
1. ABC General Fishing Rules apply and can be viewed at www.apapaboatclub.com
2. Competitors / Boat Teams name must be on the sign-on list before 22h00 on the day previous to the start of the competition, to be included in the competition.
3. Competitors / Boat Team must nominate, on the sign-on list, which day(s) he / she, they will fish.
3.1. Only 1 Category can be chosen and Anglers may fish both days but scores will not be aggregated.
4. Launching / Starting time - from 6.00am.
5. Weigh in time - up to 5.00pm.
6. No landed Sailfish or Marlin will be accepted in the competition.
7. Sailfish and Marlin can be tagged and released. A release without a tag will not be accepted.
8. The value for a tagged Sailfish & Marlin will be as follow:
8.1. Sailfish = 20kg
8.2. Marlin = 50kg
9. Digital evidence must be produced in both cases, as requested by the Weigh-Master.
10. All other fish shall be weighed.
11. Offshore Category
12. Offshore is defined by fishing a minimum of 8 miles south of the Lagos shoreline and the submission is by BOAT TEAM, not individuals.
13. Entry must be made with Boat Team Name, Skippers Name, Angler Names and ABC Number or Guest.
14. The only species allowed to be caught and submitted for weigh in (other than Marlin and Sailfish) are:
14.1. Sailfish - Tagged
14.2. Marlin - Tagged
14.3. Yellowfin Tuna
14.4. Bonito
14.5. Dolphinfish
14.6. Wahoo
14.7. Great Barracuda
14.8. Skipjack Tuna
14.9. Shark
15. No other species are allowed to be submitted under this category
16. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed teams will be determined by the heaviest aggregated catch of the boat on a single day of fishing.
17. Near Shore and Shore Line Category
18. Near Shore and Shore Line is defined by fishing a maximum of 8 miles south of the Lagos shoreline and on the Lagos Coast and the submission is by BOAT TEAM, not individuals.
19. Entry must be made with Boat Team Name, Skippers Name, Angler Names and ABC Number or Guest.
20. The only species allowed to be caught and submitted for weigh in are:
20.1. Mackerel
20.2. Guinea Barracuda
20.3. Little Tunny
20.4. Rainbow Runner
20.5. Blue Runner
20.6. Jacks
20.7. Grouper
20.8. Snappers
20.9. Cobia
20.10. Permit
20.11. Pompano
20.12. Blue Spotted Rock Cod
21. No other species are allowed to be submitted under this category.
22. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed teams will be determined by the heaviest aggregated catch of the boat on a single day of fishing.
23. Creek Category
24. Creek is defined by fishing within the Lagos Creek / Lagoon and no further than the East and West Mull (Harbour Mouth), and the submission is by BOAT TEAM, not individuals.
25. Entry must be made with Boat Team Name, Skippers Name, Angler Names and ABC Number or Guest.
26. The only species allowed to be caught and submitted for weigh in are:
26.1. Guinea Barracuda
26.2. Mangrove Snappers
26.3. Mangrove Jacks
26.4. Unidentified Creek Fish
27. No other species are allowed to be submitted under this category.
28. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed teams will be determined by the heaviest aggregated catch of the boat on a single day of fishing.
29. Surf Casting Category
30. Surfcasting, Spinning, Popping is defined by fishing of Land on a beach or rocks, the submission is by individuals.
31. The only species allowed to be caught and submitted for weigh in are:
31.1. All species of Fish accepted.
32. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed Anglers will be determined by the heaviest aggregated catch of the Angler on a single day of fishing.
33. Tarpon Trophy
34. Open to all Category entrants
35. Heaviest Tarpon wins the trophy
36. Best Junior Trophy
37. Open to all children who have not reached their 15th birthday
38. Heaviest total catch. (No restriction on species.)
39. In case of a dead heat in any position, the heaviest single fish will be taken into consideration, then a second and so on until the result is obtained.
40. Certificates will be presented to 1st, 2nd, 3rd Placed Boat Teams in all Categories, Tarpon Trophy and 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Best Junior.
41. An angler and or boat team can only win one prize excluding the Tarpon Trophy
42. The onus is on the competitor to indicate to the weigh-master those fish that should be weighed.
43. SPECIAL BAD WEATHER RULE: Not applicable from December through to the end of March.
PRIZE GIVING WILL BE AT 6.30pm on Sunday the 29th of January 2012
ALL COMPETITORS PRESENT AT THE PRIZE GIVING SHALL RECEIVE A PRIZE.
COMPETITORS MUST ATTEND THE PRIZE GIVING ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE COMPETITION TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES
ALL COMPETITORS AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE INVITED TO A BUFFET DINNER AND DRINKS,
THIS WILL BE SERVED IMMEDIATELY
