Rules:
1. ABC General Fishing Rules apply and can be viewed at
www.apapaboatclub.com.
2. This Competition has 4 Categories, a Junior Trophy and a Tarpon Trophy.
3. Categories (and the only fish indicated in that category):
3.1. Offshore: This is defined as fishing a minimum of 8 nautical miles south of the Lagos shoreline.
Sailfish – Tagged = 20kg
Marlin – Tagged = 50kg

1st Prize = GoPro Pack (3 GoPro Cameras with accessories in waterproof case) and a Shimano Tiagra 50 WLRS with a Melton Kona 80/100 Stand-up Rod
2nd Prize = 1 GoPro Camera and a Shimano Tiagra 50W with a Kona 50/80 Stand-up Rod
3rd Prize = Aftco Flying Gaff, Braid Stand-up Harness, Aftco Tag Stick
3.2. Near Shore and Shore Line Category: This is defined by fishing a maximum of 8 nautical miles south of the Lagos shoreline.

3.3. Creek: This is defined by fishing within the Lagos Creek/Lagoon and no further than ends of the East and West Mull / Harbour Mouth south of Tarkwa Bay

3.4. Surf Casting: This is defined by fishing (Surfcasting, Spinning, and/or Popping) from the Land i.e. beach or rocks.
All species of Fish accepted.
1st Prize = Shimano Stella 18000 with a G. Lommis Surfcasting Rod
2nd Prize = Shimano Saragosa 18000 Reel with a Popping Rod
3rd Prize = SIMMS bag with Inshore Popping Pack
3.5. Tarpon Trophy All Categories are Eligible
Prize = GoPro Pack (3 GoPro Cameras with accessories in waterproof case)
Note - No Tarpon No Prize
3.6. Junior Trophy All Categories are Eligible
Prize = Melton Mini Tuna Lifter with Avet Reel
4. Boat Team names must be submitted giving the following information Team Name, Skippers Name, Angler Names marked with ABC number or marked as Guest.
5. Individual Competitors (Surf Casting Category and Junior Fishermen) must submit the angler names marked with ABC number or marked as Guest.
6. Competitors / Boat Team must nominate the following on the sign-on list:
6.1. Fishing day (both days can be selected)
6.2. Category - only one is allowed
6.3. Anglers may fish both days but scores will not be aggregated.
7. All submissions must be on the sign-on list before 22h00 on the day previous to the start of the competition, to be included in the competition.
8. Launching / starting time - from 6.00am.
9. Weigh in time - up to 5.00pm.
10. Sailfish and Marlin must be tagged and released.
a. A release without a tag will not be accepted.
b. Digital evidence must be produced in both cases, as requested by the Weigh-Master.
11. All other fish shall be weighed.
12. Winners will be decided as follows:
a. The Boat Team with the Heaviest Total Weight in each Category, on a single day.
b. The Individual Surf Caster and Junior Angler with the Heaviest Total Weight on a single day.
c. The Heaviest Tarpon by any Angler.
13. In case of a dead heat in any position, the heaviest single fish will be taken into consideration, then a second and so on until the result is obtained.
14. Certificates will be presented to the following:
1st, 2nd & 3rd Placed Boat Teams in Off-shore, On-shore and Creek Category
1st, 2nd & 3rd Placed Surf Caster
1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Best Junior
1st Place Tarpon Trophy
15. An angler and or boat team can only win one prize excluding the Tarpon Trophy
16. The onus is on the competitor to indicate to the weigh-master those fish that should be weighed.
17. The heaviest bag by an individual Apapa Boat Club Member fisherman will get the FOY points and the Captain of that Person the COY points.
PRIZE GIVING WILL BE AT 6.30pm on Sunday the 29th of January 2012
ALL COMPETITORS PRESENT AT THE PRIZE GIVING SHALL RECEIVE A PRIZE.
COMPETITORS MUST ATTEND THE PRIZE GIVING ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE COMPETITION TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES
ALL COMPETITORS AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE INVITED TO A BUFFET DINNER AND DRINKS,
THIS WILL BE SERVED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PRIZE GIVING
